The fragrance wheel was introduced in 1949 as a way to identify fragrances and develop new compounds. There are 4 key fragrance families: woody, fresh, oriental, floral. Each family has 3 respective sub-families. We use the fragrance family framework when creating custom fragrances by first identifying which fragrance family we think you match with based on your fragrance design survey. This guides us on which key fragrance elements we should start with and then we begin building your custom fragrance based on the personal details provided in the survey.
